the best is to not crash gephex in a live situation :)
you can do it by testing and testing yours graphs before
in live situation i use few graphs, don't modify them (or just little 
mods) and use a bunch of snapshots of a same graph to have many 
possibilities
i don't have a method to save the window position but i know if i have 
to place it on the second screen i have to do it only one time and not 
have to repeat for all the graphs...
