Hi Osamu,

I'm not sure but what comes to mind is that gephex is starting but  
your X display isn't.

First, please be sure that you have X11 running when you start gephex.

Next, other things to try:

1. for me, i found that i need to set the GEPHEX_XTERM variable so i  
actually start up X running this from the X11 window:
GEPHEX_XTERM=XTERM /sw/bin/gephex

2. someone else recently posted on the list that needed to set his  
DISPLAY variable first.
so he create the following line in a .bash_profile file in his home  
directory:
export DISPLAY=:0.0
then he was able to get gephex running.
