[gephex-user] can someone help me get gephex running on a powerbook with toger 10.4.7 ???

i downloaded Georg's (fink) binary:
gephex_0.4.4-1_darwin-powerpc.deb

and installed it with:

dpkg --install gephex_0.4.4-1_darwin-powerpc.deb

i have fink installed
and Apple's X11 + XCode

however i keep getting:

wkwkwk-computer:~ wkwkwk$ gephex /sw/share/gephex/graphs/example3
/usr/X11R6/bin/xterm Xt error: Can't open display:
gephex-gui-real: cannot connect to X server
wkwkwk-computer:~ wkwkwk$ gephex-gui
gephex-gui-real: cannot connect to X server

excuse my ignorance
i'm only just starting to learn to use the Terminal etc

i really want to use gephex,
as i'm in need of a free/open source VJ/video processing type program in
order to do shows with!!!
