[gephex-devel] 1394

Hey bm... Thanks for the reply. I will have to get a second live
video feed going with this and have been looking at the wintv usb
device - actually, I'm looking at the Hauppage WinTV Go Plus PCI. I
have an old Sony Hi8 that I'll hook up to it. The dv1394 camera is
being used by a person documenting the event and would really like to
use firewire. I've been looking at ways I could maybe use vloopback
(no luck yet) or perhaps another program that will read the dv1394
device and output to YUV4MPEG. Supposedly Veejay will do this but no
luck there yet either.

I did find this thread in gephex-devel "miniDV over firewire
input" ( http://lists.gephex.org/pipermail/gephex-devel/2005-March/
000468.html ) where Sven stated he was working on it and hoped to get
it stable. Though the thread was informative, it didn't have the
solution. Has more progress been made with libdv?

Thanks!
jt

btw... sry I've sent this only to you. Should it be sent to the list?
