It is obvious that this is a big change to the update rules. But i
consider the current behavior somewhat broken. In the context of midi
and osc there are many issues with the old behavior that i hope are all
fixed by the new rule.

I'd like to merge the new behavior as default for this rc. If there are
any issues with it i'll fix them or remove the patch before tagging the
last 0.4.3 release candidate.
