Yes, it can just play mpegs. We use libmpeg3. What do you use?

Thanks for your answers. It's good to learn about the difficulties your 
ran into and the solutions you found, since your software is much more 
advanced than ours: I hope it will prevent us from doing some mistakes. 
The client/server architecture is to be considered.
